Racing toward Savannah from Yemassee, SC, coffee in hand and ready to detrain!!! Coach was not so bad! Ear plugs and eye shades and blanket were used with success! (And, of course, the extra seat made the difference!)

Granny, since 97(19) was reported as on time at Savannah and you reside some 15 miles away from the station, I presume you are at home but otherwise “zonked’.
Even though I’m not about to voluntarily share your Coach travel experience (I have for example when my Sleeper had to be set out as a Bad Order), I am pleased to learn you hold “it wasn’t that bad’.
However, now that overnight Coach is in your “been there done that” logbook, I hope your travels will be where the vast majority of respondents, be they here at your blog, Railforum, or Trainorders (you’d find same, even considering a much younger demographic, if you were to sign up and participate at Railroad Net as well), find themselves riding overnight.
Gil,
My trip report will give a little more detail on the night in coach! It was, indeed, interesting!
TrainGranny join us in Rochelle, Il on July 21,2012 for the Let’s Talk Trains BlogTalkRadio podcast.
Sounds very interesting! Can you please explain a little more of what would happen if I joined you there? I might just do it!
We are going to be talking to the creators of the Railroad Park, and the city leaders what made them build the premier railroad park in the US. Since you travel by train a great deal, you can give a first hand review of the park.
Do you have a deadline for finalizing your plans? (July 21st is my birthday! I have to talk to family before making a commitment!) I’m truly honored to be asked, however!
