SHE explains herself best. Her first comment is based on my Facebook post that I truly enjoyed meeting HIM on the Pennsylvanian!
In Dee’s own words:
At my age (71) I am relieved to know that I have not lost my memory nor am I experiencing “out-of-body” travels. Though a train trip would be the way to go.
I have been taking trains since I was a young girl. Mother and I would walk into the small village where we lived in southern RI and flag down the early morning “mail train”. We would then go to Providence for a day of shopping and visiting with relatives. We would take a late afternoon train back, and the conductor would alert the Engineer where we needed to be let off. (Life was far less complicated back then. Imagine this happening in today’s security driven world.)
I began long distance travels with a trip to Georgia to attend Parents weekend at Fort Benning. About 10 yrs ago my brother moved to Arizona so now I have an added excuse to travel. (I also use the logic that “if I am going that far I may as well see a few places along the way”.) I am currently hoping to make a trip next Feb/ Mar but it is still in the early stages of planning.
A fellow traveler,
